Wow, so it's been so long, I haven't posted on my blog in like? Hmmm? Forever! Well, I really need to get back into the groove of things, and keep this thing going! So, I do have some exciting news....well, for me it's exciting. I finally have a driver's license! That's right! and it feels so good to just get in a car and drive. I rented a car, a brand new little Fiat! Italian style! I love this car, I gotta get me one soon! I've been driving non-stop for three days with Rihanna's "Man Down" on repeat!!! Blasting it!! Booooya!!

Back in New York!!

Hey folks!! It's been a long while...I sorta disappeared huh? Sorry 'bout that! I went to Italy in June to spend time with the family! I had so much fun in Italy - Venice and Sicily. Then I headed back to new York in Septemeber...and I here I am still. Lot's of great stuff happening here.....I'm practicing with a band, four amazing dudes.....Derek, Alex, Floris and Coyote!! These guys are real cool, funny and excellent musicians!! I'm keeping the band on the down low until we're ready to play out live.....can't wait...I'm so excited!!!

Meanwhile, tons of meetings with all sorts of record industry peeps, trying to figure out my next move. Lot's of options...luckily ;) Of course, I'm still in the studio working on new songs as all of this is happening....

All my web pages are being redesigned as we speak....Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace and www.JulianaJoya.com.....whew! Lots of work ahead! Hopefully everything will launch brand new...by the New Year....???

It's freaking cold in New York!! ....OMG!!! WTF!!!! ..... I really miss LA, and I decided that LA is where I belong......yep, that's right!!! Sorry New York.....but I need warm temperatures, blue skies and lots of sun on my face...lol!

Anyways, I figured out I love working with Europeans. I guess cuz I grew up in Italy, we just connect....! So I'm back in sunny California after freezing my butt off in New Yawk for the holidays. It feels good to have the sun on my face again. Back again with Ryan & Smitty at Paramount Studios. L.P. joined the session as well. Damn this session was hot!!.... small room, and no a/c .......lol. When I arrived in Cali I had to find a vocal coach. This dude, Howard Benson, suggested I hire Mark Renk? I had no idea who Howard was? But hey? Mark lives on my block, 4 doors away, so why not? Then I find out, Howard is a big time producer! So if he's recommending him, then he must be good? So we met and we hit it off! Mark is a great vocal coach, and also an amazing singer, songwriter and performer! Oh yeah, he's also a proud new daddy, he just had his first baby girl...yeaaaahhh, and she's sooo cute!

Meeting lots of cool peeps in Los Angeles. I'm in writing sessions everyday. Having a blast!!

My boys from Brooklyn, Adam & Peter were in town, we got to finish a few songs, and we also pigged out at The Griddle in Hollywood....the breakfast was crazy!!! First Day On The Job

So I'm out here in Los Angeles for 3-6 months, meeting writers and producers, working on finding the right songs and sound/style....it's pretty cool being here, I'm meeting a lot of cool people. I'm in a different writing session everyday. I haven't had a day off since I landed here 10 days ago. I'm already booked up through mid-September.....holy moly!!

Juliana Joya Signs to Emblem/Warner Bros

Hey folks.....I just signed a deal with Emblem/Warner Bros. Yeeeeaaahhh! So now Bugs Bunny and I have something in common, we both work for the same company. Anyway, I figured it's time to start blogging, so everyone can follow me on this incredible journey. It started when I met a famous producer, and super cool dude, Matt Serletic ("Smooth" Santana, Rob Thomas, Matchbox 20). I had NO IDEA who Matt was, when I met him...lol...oooops! Oh well, he didn't seem to mind. Anyway, Matt is really really tall, wears cool sunglasses and he has a baby face. Now, Matt is my mentor, boss, and big brother.... Sooooo, then..... Matt introduce me to the WB prez and bigwig Tom Whalley. Tom is a real handsome guy for an older dude - just like my daddy (hi dad!!!). It's hard to make Tom laugh, I tried.....but he's real serious! Maybe he has a lot on his mind since he's paying all the bills? But I'm sure he'll be smiling after I sell my first million records...lol. Anyway, I met all the WB staff at a BBQ in front of WB's building, where I watched Gloriana perform (and they were awesome)! Make sure you check out Gloriana, a great new band that Matt produced. Matt is always busy producing music and writing songs. And while Matt is busy in the studio, his brother Dean is running the show, taking care of label business, hooking stuff up, and feeding me!!

FYI - Dean loves twizzlers and telling funny stories!
